Admissions Process

Contact us via online request

Our online form will be sent directly to our school coordinator, who will call you to get some preliminary information about your child. From this point on, the school coordinator will serve as your primary contact for information regarding enrollment. At the end of this phone call, the school coordinator will give you instructions on how to obtain the application packet and schedule a tour.

Mainspring Academy Tour

During the tour you will get to see Mainspring Academy as it is functioning during a normal school day. The tour will be conducted by a member of the Academy administration who will highlighting the uniqueness of our academic institution. Afterwards, you will sit down with a Mainspring Academy administrative staff member and discuss your child’s current academic situation.


Your child will visit the school and will be placed in a classroom to gauge your child’s ability to perform in the academic environment. These observations can be anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour. We will inform you ahead of the visit about what the requested time frame will be. Please send any necessary items in order for your child to be successful and comfortable during the observation. In order for staff to see how your child will function during the school day, you will not be allowed to accompany your child during the observation.

Print and fill out the application packet

A comprehensive and detailed application packet is vital for us to determine if Mainspring Academy is right for your child.

Complete applications must include the following:

  • Application form
  • Non-refundable application fee* of $300 (Make check payable to Mainspring Academy)
  • Most recent evaluations
  • Psychological, educational or neuropsychological evaluation (within last 2 years)
  • Speech/language evaluation (if applicable)
  • Occupational therapy evaluation (if applicable)
  • Individual education plan (IEP) (if applicable)
  • Recent standardized test scores (i.e. FCAT) (if applicable)
  • Report card
  • Portfolio of current and/or previous academic work
  • Recent picture

*Application fee will be used toward tuition if accepted.

The Admissions Committee will review the application information to determine the appropriateness of our program for each prospective student. Determinations will be made based on space, classroom dynamics, classroom visit observations and previous assessment data. The school coordinator will then confer with parents about to the admissions decision.
